Dear Gorillas,
This Sunday the 12th December sees the Annual General Meeting at the clubhouse at 10am. Can I please ask all members of the club, current and past players especially, to attend the meeting to fully understand how our club is going and where we are heading. We are all owners of this wonderful club and we all have a role to play in ensuring our short and long term viability and sustainability.
It is proposed to increase the size of the committee next year to ensure all roles are covered and members of the committee are not overwhelmed by the duties of their portfolios. It is hoped that additional volunteers will assist all committee members to further increase the output of each portfolio. It is important to remember that we are a volunteer club and that these critical roles undertaken are done so by a volunteer with family, work committments etc... Please join us and enjoy the fantastic feeling of camaraderie, achievement, friendship that comes from being an important part of a football club - volunteers are the people that make it all possible.
Preparation for the 2011 footy season is off and away and it is great to see many players taking up the opportunity to get the club moving by attending pre-season training sessions. No doubt positions will be hard to come by next year so it is great to see these men giving themselves every opportunity to be a part of a successful 2011. It is also great to see some exciting new recruits on the track as well. I take this opportunity to welcome them all to our club.
On a social note it can now be confirmed that the SUNLINC Wilston-Grange AFC "Gorillas Race Day" will be at Doomben on Saturday the 19th of February 2011. We require a further 7 race sponsors to ensure a successful event. Race sponsorship packages are available for $3000 and includes the following benefits:
